Kevin Czinger caused some stir when he released to the public the 720 horsepower lightweight beast in 2015. Even though it wasn’t the sleekest supercar on the market at the time the way it was made was pretty revolutionary, it is built using 3D printed aluminum along with carbon fiber pieces that snapped in together like legos.
Even to this day, the CEO of the company Czinger Vehicle Inc. still uses 3D printing to create this beast, the 21C. According to them, the process is called computational manufacturing, where computers design the parts while engineers optimize the whole design from the computer, and after that, they’re all 3D printed in the order given by the engineers.
The hybrid beast features a small 2.88 liters V8 engine and 3 electric motors with a final output of a whapping 1.233 horsepower the engine also being twin-turbocharged. According to the company, the supercar can reach a top speed of up to 268 MPH and go from 0 to 62 in 1.9 seconds, clearing the quarter-mile in 8.1 seconds, the car being as light as 1400 lbs. Production of this prototype is going to be limited to 80 cars, each with a price tag to start of 1.7 million USD.

The expected release date around the world is in 2021 the car being completely street legal both in the US and Europe from what we know now, both in crash rating and in emissions.
This car is made to hunt track records – said the CEO. The car was firstly announced back in 2015 and everybody forgot about it until today when the company came back with all the news we have now, meaning something serious and the fact that they really started production and in a year they will also start selling the beasts to the open public.
It is going to be really hard to get your hand on one, only 80 being manufactured but the lucky owners of the 21C will probably take good care of the cars and will do as the CEO said – “hunt track records”.
At the moment it seems this is the only close competitor to the Tesla Roadster, both having the same 0 to 60 times the only difference being that the 21C is only hybrid while the Roadster is full-electric which make almost the only difference between the 2 beasts besides the aspect, as they don’t even look close to each other.
