Rolls-Royce Cullinan Gets The Black Badge Treatment

Like the Wraith and Dawn, the Black Badge now graces the Cullinan and adds a host of aesthetic and dynamic improvements, including a darkened Spirit of Ecstasy hood ornament, black chrome that replaces every exterior piece except the door handles, new 22-inch wheels, and for the first time ever in a Rolls-Royce, painted calipers shown here in red.

Now, the company’s first SUV, the Cullinan has joined the ranks. The Rolls-Royce Cullinan Black Badge not only gets a new color but also various other enhancements that ensure that a luxury car buyer will definitely consider it. The Rolls-Royce Cullinan Black Badge, for that matter, gets polished grille vanes with a contrasting shade, black logos, 22-inch black alloys, and a new interior Forge Yellow color scheme. Apart from this, the Rolls-Royce Cullinan Black Badge also gets a bump in power and torque – 29hp and 50Nm respectively. This takes the total power and torque to now 600hp and a massive 900Nm from its 6.8-liter V12 motor. Rolls-Royce claims that 0-100kmph acceleration has gone up by 0.1s. The new claimed timing is 5.1s. For enhanced driving experience, Rolls has also ensured that the engine, gearbox as well as throttle mapping have been revised.

Inside, you will find bold colors normally associated with the Black Badge vehicles, like the new Forge Yellow in the photo gallery. Neatly assembled carbon fiber weaves, along with the infinity symbol grace the cabin as well, including the Starlight Headliner which joins the Cullinan for the first time. According to RR, this starry feature has become as iconic to the brand as the Pantheon grille and the Spirit of Ecstasy. It even comes with eight shooting star programs, which will dynamically display lights that move along in an arranged pattern. Talk about neat.

The upgrades to the Black Badge are more than skin deep, though. The 6.75-litre twin-turbo V12 has been injected with an extra 29 hp and 37 lb-ft, for a total output of 600 hp and 664 lb-ft. Black Badges also come equipped with an active sports exhaust, activated by pressing the ‘Low’ button on the column-mounted gear stalk. Rolls-Royce has further retuned the suspension, steering, and transmission to offer a more dynamic and refined drive, which they say is expected from this darkened alter ego.

Stay tuned for our first drive of the Cullinan Black Badge, and for those prospective customers looking to purchase one, it starts at $382,000 USD. Rolls-Royce dealerships have already begun accepting commissions.
