Karma Automotive is on a full swing with its plans to reinvent itself by introducing an outstanding piece of technology into the hypercar electric market. It is about the newly announced Kaveya, an electric coupe that will definitely make a statement. Speaking of raw electric power, the Karma Kaveya will use dual electric motors with a combined output of 1,180 HP and staggering 1,270 lb-ft of torque. That means less than 3 seconds to cross the 60 mph finish. As for top speed, this is electronically limited to 290 km/h.

A central element of the Kaveya program is Karma’s new partnership with Factorial, a U.S.-based solid-state battery specialist. Factorial’s technology will underpin Karma’s upcoming electric platform, which is set to debut with the Kaveya itself.
The technical specifications for the battery pack remain unknown for the moment; however, in the preview sessions a while ago, the Kaveya was set to use a 120kWh battery with a driving range of more than 420 km/h. However, it is uncertain if the company will decide to go with this setup.
Development Timing
The decision to delay the Kaveya was addressed directly by Marques McCammon, Karma’s president and chief executive. He explained that the company chose to wait because it “did not yet see a clear path to fully delivering the uncompromising driving experience that should be expected from an American ultra-luxury vehicle company.” From my point of view, that comment suggests the delay was less about hesitation and more about alignment between performance goals and underlying technology.

Battery Partner Perspective
From Factorial’s side, the collaboration carries broader significance. CEO Siyu Huang described the agreement by saying, “Launching our first U.S. passenger-vehicle program with Karma is a meaningful milestone for Factorial.” She added, “FEST was built to scale, and this milestone not only highlights the energy and performance solid-state technology can deliver but also underscores the global leadership of U.S. technology innovators.” Huang also noted that “High-performance luxury vehicles require cutting-edge innovation, and this collaboration showcases what’s possible when performance leads.”
