Red Bull RB17 Final Production Design Revealed With 1,200 HP Hybrid V-10

Red Bull’s RB17 is no longer just a concept floating around design studios. The company has now locked in the final production version of its first road-going hypercar—although it remains strictly track-only—and it’s expected to go on sale this year.

An early glimpse of the RB17 surfaced back in July 2024. What we’re seeing now is the finished form. And compared to that original prototype, the production version appears sharper. Tighter. Maybe even more focused.

Exterior

The front end has been cleaned up, though not softened. Slim LED headlights sit neatly integrated into sculpted carbon bodywork. Every surface feels shaped with airflow in mind, not decoration. The idea is simple: move air as seamlessly as possible.

Along the sides, deep channels cut through the carbon structure and direct air toward substantial rear cooling zones. Above, a roof-mounted intake feeds the mid-mounted engine directly. Then there’s the central fin—large, vertical, unmistakable, looking like it was actually taken from a LeMans prototype and scaled for this particular car.

The super-fast hypercar features a couple of details that are associated with road-only hypercars, even if the model is made for track only. Small things, maybe, but they suggest how close this design is to production.

Interior

Inside, Red Bull hasn’t chased luxury. The cockpit goes full race car. There are no touchscreens and no unnecessary distractions. Physical controls dominate the space. Everything is oriented around lap times—seating position, steering wheel placement, overall visibility. It’s clearly built to serve performance, not comfort.

Complete Powertrain Information

As already mentioned in the title, the Red Bull RB17 produces around 1,000 horsepower, with revving stopping at a whopping 15,000 rpm. This is achieved thanks to a Cosworth V10 naturally-aspirated 4.5-liter engine, which is backed by an electric motor that adds another 200 horsepower to the total output. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a sequential transmission with six forward gears. There is also a hydraulically locking active limited-slip differential that helps achieve the tremendous power. The hybrid system, meanwhile, handles reverse gear duties.

Other Specifications

The production of the RB17 Red Bull will be limited to just 50 versions. Prices at the moment remain undisclosed. It’s suggested, however, that the cost will likely sit well over seven figures. Production won`t be far, since the car is currently under final testing.
